Everything new

Our apartment is getting closer and closer to perfection. Yesterday we painted two more walls, so the painting is now definitely finished. (I promise, I’ll put some photos online soon!).

There are just minor things that remain to be done: the handles in the kitchen, a lamp above the mirror in the bathroom, a curtain for the shower, telephone and internet connection (the technicians of the TELEKOM are on strike), and a couple of other, minor things.

There will be a party to celebrate the act of having moved (Einzugsparty) but the exact date is not clear yet.

We haven’t discovered much of Cologne yet because we spent our free days mainly working on the apartment but as that is almost done there will be more spare time for that.

In the meantime I found the commuting (1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon) not too bad because I can dedicate this time to one of my favourite activities (among eating, drinking and the other one): reading. In the morning I read the Süddeutsche (a national daily newspaper; slightly left wing) and in the afternoon the pages of a novel appear in front of my eyes. Soon, the novel will have to be replaced by Bezhad Rahzavi’s all time best-seller “Design of CMOS Integrated Analog Circuits” because there’ll be an important exam on analog circuits on the 5th of July.

Anyway.

A nice weekend to all of you!
